Leslie Myers, MS, CRC, CCDVC (she/her) was a trailblazer in the disability rights movement. A senior program associate and access coordinator at Activating Change, Leslie worked to improve the responses of disability and victim services to victims with disabilities, with a specific focus on improving the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. She also served as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor as well as a Clinically Certified Domestic Violence Counselor who worked in the fields of intellectual/developmental disabilities, independent living, domestic violence and sexual assault for over 20 years. She provided direct technical assistance to the Disability Grant Program since 2010 and in addition to programmatic support to Activating Change’s trainings and webinars.

Leslie worked diligently to create accessible online materials including the Supporting Crime Victims with Disabilities Online Toolkit and Peer to Peer: Bridging the Gap Through Self-Advocacy Curriculum, a curriculum designed for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and created using the principles of plain language. She provided training to grantees and others on to create accessible and safe programs and services as well as materials that are accessible to all.

Leslie Myers was known for her fierce advocacy, dedication, and determined spirit. Her passion and care for others touched the lives of many people and made her an invaluable member of our team. Leslie will be sorely missed.
